During my early morning search for good news and uplifting stories in the newspaper today, a great idea popped out at me.

Inspiration can come from people who have endured catastrophic life experiences and emerged the victor or the wiser victim. Helen Keller, Mahatma Ghandi, Nelson Mandela, and Elie Weisel are some of the more familiar names, but many of us have personally known individuals who have come through the other side of a wrenching experience with love, grace and humility.

There are some human spirits that are pure Giving. Daughter and son-in-law, Jules and Roger have virtually re-decorated and re-wired my 4 story townhouse over the last 8 years.
This Lent has at once been a blessing–a growing closer to Him– for me, but also disappointing, frustrating–at times I feel absent–ineffectual and nothing.
I am distanced from my brothers and sisters by misunderstanding and frustration. How can we really communicate when we are separated by mistrust and anger?
